This month we hosted two preview gatherings in preparation for our LAUNCH October 5th. I’ll be honest…they were amazing! The band sounded amazing-bringing solid worship, the liturgy was beautiful and I hear the preaching was good.

We are learning a great deal from these preview gatherings and hope that people will feel good about and compelled to invite others to LAUNCH!

As a side note we started our second gathering off fairly rough because Brad and I got cussed out (which is better than knifed like I thought was going to happen) right before the service started. A drunk man came in wanting cash and when I told him we can’t give cash to people, especially when they are drinking with it he flipped. Besides…we are poor church planters- we don’t have cash ourselves.

The past week has been crazy with Veritas. We spend the weekend helping with clean-up and recycling at Comfest and it was a blast. In fact clean-up was so good that The Columbus Dispatch wrote and nice article on it.  I was asked to sit on the committee next year to make the process even better. A lot of great conversations were had and relationships were built. I am praying for a lot of these guys to know Jesus.

A few short days later we were at Red, White and Boom! We got space for a booth and had an amazing display that Lonny Hurly made. While it rained most of the day we were able to pass out over 300 bags of coffee, postcards and even gave an ipod away. We got tons of contacts and are following up with them this week.

This Sunday we have our fourth and final ‘unplugged’ service before we start preview services next month.  We are excited about the growth that is happening and the many talented people that are coming. Just to reiterate we are meeting Sunday nights 5pm at 296 W. 4th Ave. 43201.

And finally this week Joe and Renee Byler join us! Joe is our worship arts guy as well as handeling a lot of our administration stuff. The Bylers are a huge addition to our staff and we can’t wait to see how God uses them with Veritas. Please pray for their move, their housing situation and their sanity in this caotic time.
